The Rumour Mill : Possible MLS Transfers

Our very first post for the MLS Surgery and a welcome to the MLS Fantasy Community from ourselves. Basically, The Rumour Mill as far as the off-season goes anyway, will talk about the possible transfers, in, out and around the MLS during the post 2016 season. So, without further a due, let's get this article underway.

Where better to start this article than with the first of the two new franchises to the League next season: Atlanta United.

Atlanta United:

The one big transfer rumour that is going around the halls of Atlanta United these days is that the newly free agent after leaving Los Angeles Galaxy, Robbie Keane is a target as a Designated Player signing. This would be seen as a real coup for Atlanta, as Keane is arguably the best DP ever to grace a MLS turf and has no intention of retiring yet, like Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Didier Drogba have done in recent days.

Chicago Fire:

This rumour seems to never be going to go away, even though the player has no intention of leaving Manchester United, at least not in January in time for the new season anyway. But, Chicago Fire are still pursuing the services of the German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. In my opinion, this move should go through as there has been a three year deal offered in recent days. Only time will tell if the player does accept and Jose Mourinho and Manchester United allow Schweinsteiger to leave.

LA Galaxy:

With two Designated Players in the form of Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane having departed the most successful side in MLS History, there are spaces free'd up and in much need of filling. LA Galaxy have already sounded out two names to fill these spots. These players have been sounded out by Sky Sports no less in recent days for possible moves.

They are both central midfielders, Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira, as he has fallen out of favour in the Serie A club and on loan to Bournemouth midfielder from Arsenal, Jack Wilshere. A change of scenery and some much needed first team football would be a great thing for the Englishman.

On the Sami Khedira transfer, it should be noted also that both New York City FC and New York Red Bulls are also very interested in the German international.
